We live in a technology-driven world. All around us, there are electronics that are designed to make our lives easier. Cell phones, computers, and tablets all keep us connected, entertained, and informed. However, is all of this technology a good thing? While some things definitely make our lives easier, others cause distractions? Do the positives outweigh the negatives?
What do you think? Explain your views about our dependency on technology.

I think that technology can be a bad thing. It makes us smarter but at the same time destroying some things in our brain. Also I believe that people depend to much on technology to do things for them.

DeleteI agree with you to a point. Yes, technology may destroy some things in our brain, but technology is also teaching us new information. Those "things" getting destroyed in our brain won't do too much damage.
DeleteTechnology is helping us and is a good thing we rely on it when it comes to waking us up the morning and it just has our backs so i would say that yes technology is a very good thing. There are thing in this life that you don't even think about because technology is doing it for you.

DeleteI believe that technology is hurting us because today a big majority of kids have a cellphone. Many of them pay more attention to their phones then their teacher.

I see your point but we also use technology in class for education. The technology we use has been upgraded and more advanced but that is for better education for the students. Even the teachers learn thing on technology.

Everyone uses technology weather your driving a car or making coffee. Weather you want to accept technology it will grow and get smarter throughout everyday life.
ReplyDeleteTechnology would be helping us, not hurting us. This is the 21st century and we are surrounded by technology. We even use technology to pay our bills. Without technology we wouldn't know half of the stuff we know now. Our education is off of technology. We do tutoring online and we get our homework online. Even the FSA test we just did was on the computer. Without technology we wouldn't be were we all are now.

DeleteTechnology has become a part of many people's everyday life. We use technology almost everywhere. Cell phones, computers, laptops, smart boards, GPS systems, etc. all are technology passed. It helps us daily, by providing us with information, or even fun that we wouldn't necessarily get out of a book (a book is also a technology, but good point) as quickly as we'd type it into Google. The internet is fast and has tons of pages on every topic.and it helps society

DeleteTechnology can be a good thing and a bad thing. Technology gives us information that we don't have and remind us of things that we forget. But on the other hand, technology can be an distraction. Some drivers talk or text on their phones while trying to pay attention to the road even though it's illegal. Technology have its disadvantages and advantages.
ReplyDeletei think technology is doing a little bit of both. because where would we be right now without technology? in another sense it also has its cons. we are able to do all these things because of technology. for example, your skyping your relative that may be in another state. without technology that wouldn't be happening. now to bring up the cons, it makes us distant from real life. most of the people on the streets always has their face stuck in a phone. so it does prohibit us from having a real life confrontation most of the time.
ReplyDeleteTechnology has made the world such a better place. When we aren't with someone and we want to talk to then we can use our cell phones to call them. When we are going to a certain place and don't know how to get there we can use a GPS to find the way. When we don't know what something is or how to do something we can use our electronics to google it. But of course there is a downside. People are getting way to dependent on their electronics. When I'm out and my phone dies its like the end of the world for me. I can not live without my phone. lol

ReplyDeleteI think that technology is a good thing to have. But people depend on it to much. If someones phone where to die they would most likely freak out and look for a charger. Just to answer a text. Yeah technology can help with many problems like help finding medicine and other medical stuff that can help you get through stuff that can eventually kill you if you don't treat it.
ReplyDeleteI believe technology should be allowed in schools because it come in handy in many reason but the main reason for me is that some of my teachers write notes way to fast on the board and there are times where the bell is about to ring and i am not finished so i just take a picture of the notes real quick. if phones weren't allowed i wouldn't have finished the notes nor got down the information needed.

DeleteTechnology is more bad than good. Technology has become a huge distraction to teens and adults today. There are some pros in using technology as in it makes it easier to associate with your friends and maybe help toward medical reasons but if you look at it, people can't even put their phone down to drive. Texting and driving is a huge downfall in using technology.
ReplyDeleteTechnology has it's ups and downs, but it mostly has it downs. Technology has dumb us down, has gotten more dangerous, and has made itself an obsession to us. People have been kidnapped, raped, committed suicide, and killed because of what they put on the internet.

The helpfulness is the great support system like laptops and phones and etc.. it helps us to keep track of time, and make dates and quickly get into contact with someone.. The harmful part is the laziness it gives us . Some technology kinds of cripple us in a way, like auto correct and smart phone siri person....
ReplyDeleteI think technology is a vital part of evolution today. I doubt we would have reached this point without some form of technology. Also I do agree that todays generation is becoming overly dependent on technology. But with the work of machinery we can use it to supply population demands such as food and clothing.
ReplyDeleteOur Society has benefited from technology. It made studying and researching easier. Without technology, we wouldn't be able to call the police or a family member in case of an emergency. Technology has advanced over the years. We now have cells, laptops, iPads and iPods. Technology is a great thing.
ReplyDeleteI believe that technology is helping us. It is helping us use less paper than what we may have been using, and that in return has us cut down less trees. Technology is also helping people in hospitals survive, without that technology, many people would not have survived things such as illnesses, or even cancer. In some cases, technology has given students much more access to find new information or topics they can discuss, helping them with their studies, assignments, or even just to learn. Technology may be distracting with websites such as Youtube, Twitter, or Facebook, but it is helping save trees, save peoples' lives, and new information.
