Are you a pothead, Focker?
Lately it seems that the entire country has been discussing the legalization of marijuana. For some years now, many states have allowed marijuana use for medical purposes, but there is a growing movement to legalize it entirely. Some states have put the issue up for vote in recent elections. Many people believe that the health benefits associated with smoking marijuana should lead it to be legalized. Still others fear that it is a gateway drug and that legalization could lead to the moral collapse of society.
What do you think? Are the current laws enough? Should there be restrictions at all? What about other drugs?
Explain your views about the current controversy of whether or not society should completely legalize marijuana use.

Society should legalize it. It is completely harmless and caused no accident unlike alcohol and medicine. Most to all the medince you take can kill you or effect your actions to greatly. When was the last time you have heard that someone died because of weed....never. If it is so wrong to smoke it that it needs to be illegal then all alcohol and medicine should be illegal too.

DeleteMarijuana should be legalized. Marijuana is a natural cure for cancer's around the world. Legalized marijuana will lower the cash flow for illegal purchases. I honestly think that people against legalizing is because they are stuck on the fact of potheads and such. America already fails to arrest most marijuana dealers now what will make the difference if we legalize it.

DeleteI believe that marijuana should be legalized. States that have it already legal have made millions of dollars in tax revenue with no backfire when it comes to crime and use of other drugs. The fact that theyre making so much money should be enough to lagalize in the whole country. The higher goverenment doesn't even care if its legalized, as long as certain regulations are put such as minors not having access to it.

DeleteI think marijuana should be legalized. There are people, even young children who have deadly deceases such as cancer, who are proscribed medical cannabis. I have seen so many documentaries on really sick people who were taking loads of different prescription drugs with lists of side effects who eventually decided to try medical cannabis. One five year old was having hour long seizures every day since she was a couple months old, her parents ran out of options and decided to try cannabis. She now can function and only has seizures two to three times a month. I don't see why it should be illegal.

DeleteWEED, KUSH, MARYJANE, CLOUD9, Marijuana or whatever you want to call it should be legalized.. If the government is so worried about the civilians then why is cigarettes legal? They give people cancer, and because of the nicotine it's very addicitng. All weed does is get people HIGH AS THE SKY! I mean, if you really think about it, weed helps people to stay calm and mello, therefore keeping them from doing crazy mess out of anger or just to do it. When most people are high they find everything amusing , so they just be chilling... We need more chill nowadays! Besides, even if it is illegal, people don't care they still gone sell, and smoke it..

DeleteIf legalized, marijuana can be taxed which would produce billions of dollars annually in profit which in turn would help our nation get out of debt. Cannabis farms can be set up as well, and growing and harvesting marijuana can become a profession thus lowering the unemployment rate. It also does not lead to or cause lung cancer.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with this and it will help the nation in a large number of ways with money and the large amounts of arrest in the nation just because of possession of weed. legalizing this will do nothing but good for this country, Its going to take stress off of everybody's back!
DeleteI honesty do believe that weed should be legalized because in one of the articles that I found yesterday said that just last year 658,000 thousand people got arrested for possession of weed. This clearly tells me that people really need this drug to help them with certain with situations, and did you know that this drug helps cure cancer. So why is this drug so bad to legalize?
ReplyDeleteI believe that weed have it's advantages and disadvantages. In certain cases weed helps people relax and forget about the bad situations that their in. Weed isn't necessarily bad. But on the other hand, Marijuana smoke contains 50% to 70% more cancer-causing substances than tobacco smoke. It all depends on what people are using weed for

Yet you hear on the news people dying from lung cancer and alcohol poisoning. Marijuana is known to cure cancer while cigarettes are known to cause cancer but they’re legal? Doesn’t make sense.

DeleteMarijuana should be legalized it is just a herb. You but herbs in tea to get better. Herbs help you heal faster. They even use it to help cancer patients. However cigarettes are what causes cancer but that's legal. Marijuana is harmless.

DeleteMarijuana should be legalized because it's not a hard drug and it doesn't do bad things to people it can be bad if you abuse it but so is everything else if you look at the pros and cons of marijuana use you won't find it to be all that bad if we are looking at the real dangerous things that cause numerous deaths every year why not band alcohol and cigarettes instead.Marijuana helps with many things including cancer.

DeleteMarijuana, why is it when you say the name around people, they look at you like your a druggy smoking some pot? Its because people don't know the pros of marijuana. They only pay attention to the cons. I know a lot about the pros and cons of marijuana and honestly i think marijuana should be legalized. The reasons why i think it should be legal are, that it is a medicine, its naturally grown from the ground, it has saved countless lives of people around the world with cancers and diseases. Its an all natural plant that people use to make things like clothes, car interior, food, teas, shampoos, lotions, etc. And its looked down upon a lot of people, because of the amateurs who abuse the plant, and make it seem like its the gateway drug, but in reality all the herb is doing is saving lives of children, the elderly, and anybody who has cancer, or a sickness. People die everyday of cigarettes, and all they do to you is kill you but they're legal. Marijuana is illegal and all it does is save lives and calm people down who have conditions such as anger issues, adhd, etc. and honestly if it was legal, i think our society would turn out better, and be more mellow about things. If people were to use that catalyst appropriately, people could maybe even make marijuana powered cars... you never know.

DeleteI believe "weed" should be legalized because it won't cause any harm to people. There have been more deaths and disturbances reported with alcohol. I believe that alcohol should be illegal while marijuana should be legalized.
ReplyDeleteMarijuana helps us in many ways, sickness,mental,physical,etc. Marijuana should be legalized because it has more benefits than downfalls. It hasn't done any harm to anyone. Nor has it been reported of any harm. There should be rules and age restrictions. I don't think it should be legalized without any rules or obligations.
ReplyDeleteI believe that marijuana should be legalized because marijuana helps in many different ways. For example, it can help with the economy, its helps treat diseases and other sicknesses, and other ways. If it helps out in these kinds of ways why wouldn't you want to have it legalized. It doesn't kill anyone. I would rather see people smoke marijuana than a cigarette. Cigarettes kill you. Why would you want to do that? It doesn't make sense that they would have other substances legal while it kills you. But marijuana doesn't do that. All it does is make in a goofy mood and carve for food. It has a death rate at 0 but, these other things kill millions of people each year.

Some of the citizens that live in Florida think marijuana shouldn’t be legal because they think it’s a gateway drug, even though it’s not and it actually helps people. The fact that Florida has such a high rate of retired elderly and elderly people have health issues that causes them to be in pain, a lot of people get arrested for having marijuana in their possession, and it doesn’t hurt or kill anything in your body.
Marijuana shouldn't be legalized. People get addicted to smoking. Smoking causes lung diseases and brain damage. Marijuana is even worse than cigarettes. People who smoke tend to be more violent and make bad judgements. Some believe that legalizing it will boost the economy, it won't. People will be more lazier and have no energy. Legalizing marijuana is a bad idea.
