For your first post to the class blog I'd like to know a bit about your previous experiences with writing. What sorts of things do you like to write? What were some of your favorite writing assignments from past classes? What are your strengths and weaknesses when it comes to writing?
In order to receive full credit you must write at least 5 complete sentences with correct capitalization. You must also respond to a classmate's post using one of the following sentence starters:

I like to write short adventure stories, horror stories, and arguments\. Never in my life have i ever had a favorite writing assignment because all the things we have to write are really boring. Other than that my weaknesses in writing are trying to get 8 sentences in a paragraph and finding a way to start the whole thing. And finally, my strengths are....I don't know. So yeah.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite writing assignments were anything to do with creating characters and the to start developing their life. I, myself like to write fictional stories because i enjoy creating my own world instead of something that is already here. I enjoy the idea of creating my own world because I can set it to certain expectations that I have, and add anything that I would think that could spice the story up a little bit. I have many strengths and weaknesses when it comes to writing. My weaknesses contain the fact that my writing doesn't flow properly, it doesn't feel like everything is put where it's supposed to be, or that it doesn't have enough, or it has too much. My strengths contain the fact that I can create a well developed character, and I can quickly think of what I would write next in any story or essay.
ReplyDeleteI agree, It's really hard to get a story to 'flow' properly do to our minds trying to comprehend our thoughts so fast.

DeleteI've had to right a lot of papers in my years, some I enjoyed, some I hated. I remember in the third grade, i wrote some very good and funny stories. One was if spiderman visited our school, and the other was about a scary halloween experience. I got a 6/6 on both assignments. My strength in writing is painting a story, but I am not good at explaining.
ReplyDeleteI agree with the being able to "paint a story, and not being able to explain".. That's hard to do.

DeleteMy previous experiences with writing are both great and horrible.. I've had times where my essays came out wonderful! I've also had some where it came out a mess.. I enjoy writing narratives, and expository for the simple fact its way easier than a persuasive paper in my opinion. One of my fav writing assignments was when i was in 2nd grade and we had to make up a story about finding a spider in your fruit.. I've been told by past and recent teachers that my strength when it comes to writing is i have a VOICE. Like my writing has lots of personality.. My weakness i feel is that i can start to rumble in my paragraphs.. and run out of time trying to put so much into one paragraph.

ReplyDeleteI like to write about things that are exciting, fun and are cool to think about.
If I do write, I like to write on my own time not for an assignment but for fun.
I never had favorite assignment but if I had to choose it be an essay I did about stop lights.
My weaknesses in writing are starting an essay it always takes me around ten minutes to get the first sentence. I like and don't like writing, I don't like taking the time to write an essay but I like the thought that I actually wrote one.
I enjoy writing assignments because i get to express my feelings and express my opinion on the topic. I love creating my own characters and making there own feelings and emotions. I get to create my own world and make changes ad tweak my own things and really create my own world. I love the fact i have a voice and i can really make it my own, i have control in what happens. One thing about writing i do not like is the time it takes to write a essay because i take a little while to write a good essay, but it is always worth it at the end.

DeleteI like to write about history and romance. Im actually writing stories of my own. I really enjoy writing because it is another way I can show my emotions .
ReplyDeleteMy previous writing experiences have been good and bad. I like writing about things that I understand and things that I know a lot about. I don't like when writing prompts are sprung on me and I know nothing about the topic. One of my weaknesses when it comes to writing is being timed! I like to be able to take my time, when I'm rushing my thoughts get scattered and my writing isn't my best. One of my favorite writing assignments in one of my previous classes was an essay on Michelle Obama's School Lunch Programs.
ReplyDeletei don't like writing but everybody has to write. My strengths are narrative because i like to write stories. I don't think i have any weakness because if i don't understand something i can always learn it. So hopefully i like this class. So i can learn how to write better

ReplyDeleteI like to read comedy,drama and romance books. I don't like to write. My strengths are narrative and expository. My weakness is persuasion but it depends on what I have to write about. If the topic don't interest me I don't really put a lot of effort in it. I would like to learn how to write better .

Past classes writing assignments I had were very boring and the topics we had were repetitive. My weakness in my writing are starting my essay and organizing my essay. I'm not sure what my strengths are.
ReplyDeleteI am an alright writer, I guess. Writing isn't really hard, it's just kind of boring. When I have to think of something to write about, it takes me a while. I don't know why, but other than that i'm alright. I get bored to the extent that I don't even know what to write.

I can say though being creative is one of my strengths when it comes to writing and i could sit and write a narrative no problem.

ReplyDeleteI agree that our attitude does change the truth of the circumstance. Like how Nick can have no arms or legs and still have a positive attitude about himself. And how Bethany can still surf after being getting her arm ripped off by a shark. If they can keep a positive attitude after that then so can we.
ReplyDeleteI like writing about sports and professional athletes. I dislike writing about historical and stuff that happened in the past.I think that my weaknesses are writing about narrative and expository essays. Another one of my weaknesses is starting off the story. For example, it will take 5-10 minutes just to think what I'm going to write about. I think that one of my strengths are writing about persuasive essays because i can persuade people to do stuff.
